![]() ![]() Harlequin Crest Shako - +2 to skills, DR, MF, etc. There's other options, but this is so easy to make and so cheap it would be dumb to bother looking for a unique to fill this. ![]() Spirit Rune Word Shield - FCR, +2 to skills, res, FHR, etc. Or Spirit Rune Word Sword - FCR, +2 to skills, res, FHR, etc. This would be the build I'd do for a cheap Blizzard Sorceress: I also believe that it's far easier to build a very, very powerful blizzard up with cheap gear than it is for orb to really get to its prime. ![]() If you're fighting a big boss like Andariel or Duriel, you're pretty much guaranteed to have all the shots hit, and you don't need to be facing at your enemies to cast it for full effect (cast it in front of you as you run and the monsters will go right through all of it behind you, as opposed to orb, which, unless you turn around, will waste most of its bolts, and, in addition, will be going in the opposite direction of your enemies). I've used both orb and blizzard builds and personally prefer the blizzard build. And, of course, depending on your tastes, there are alternatives for rare shields, though you won't ever find a +2 to all skills modifier on a shield. It's not really about the defense or block, although that's nice. 25-35 FCR, res, +2 to all skills, energy I think (it's been a while). Your merc should be taking most of the hits and if need be you can teleport away to regroup. Higher life will help to keep you alive and hopefully from getting into hit recovery when you do get hit. Since the shield only blocks against physical hits and most of those are melee. As a caster you should not be getting into melee range. I have always went with a 2-handed staff. I would go with investing points into Vitality. ![]()
